【成語故事】：
出處:《史記 季布來布列傳》秦朝末年，在楚地有一個叫季布的人，性情耿直，為人俠義好助。只要是他答應過的事情，無論有多大困難，都設法辦到，受到大家的贊揚。
楚漢相爭時，季布是項羽的部下，曾幾次獻策，使劉邦的軍隊吃了敗仗，劉邦當了皇帝后，想起這事，就氣恨不已，下令通緝季布。
這時敬慕季布為人，都在暗中幫助他。不久，季布經(jīng)過化裝后到山東一家姓朱的人家當傭工。朱家明知他是季布，仍收留了他，后來，朱家又到洛陽去找劉邦的老朋友汝陰候夏候嬰說情。劉邦在夏候嬰的勸說下撤消了對季布的通緝令，還封季布做了郎中，不久又改做河東太守。
有一個季布的同鄉(xiāng)人曹邱生，專愛結(jié)交有權(quán)勢的官員，藉以炫耀和抬高自己，季布一向看不起他。聽說季布又做了大官，他就馬上去見季布。
季布聽說曹邱生要來，就虎著臉，準備發(fā)落幾句話，讓他下不了臺。誰知曹邱生一進廳堂，不管季布的臉色多么陰沉，話語多么難聽，立即對著季布又是打躬，又是作揖，要與季布拉家常敘舊。并吹捧說：「我聽到楚地到處流傳著『得黃金千兩，不如得季布一諾』這樣的話，您怎么能有這樣好的名聲傳揚在梁、楚兩地的呢？我們既是同鄉(xiāng)，我又到處宣揚你鏈則薯的好名聲，你為什么不愿見到我呢？」季布聽了盯螞曹邱生的這番話，心里頓時高興起來，留下他住幾個月，作為貴客招待。臨走，還送給他一筆厚禮。
后來，曹邱生又繼續(xù)替李布到處宣揚，季布的名聲也就越來越大了。
